SIMULACRES - EXHIBITION

Les Magasins Généraux present the group exhibition “Simulacres” from 25 June to 27 September 2026.

WHEN ART BLURS THE LINES BETWEEN FICTION AND REALITY

The exhibition explores the multiple ways in which artists blur the boundaries between reality and appearance. Combining artisanal techniques with cutting-edge technologies, it highlights hybrid strategies of mimesis, illusion and digital simulation, inviting viewers to rethink artistic creation.
Hyperrealism, perceptual distortions, digital simulacra, and AI-generated images challenge, multiply and blur our relationship to the visible. Between fascination, vertigo and critical reflection, Simulacres explores the shifts in perception at a time when images are becoming places of increasing uncertainty, where the false and illusion are no longer exceptions but a norm to understand, decode, or transcend.
